Meth lab busted at Moncks Corner motel

Dan Brown/Independent Moncks Corner Police and Fire Departments were on the scene at the Berkeley Motel at 415 N. Live Oak Dr. in Moncks Corner on Monday, April 1, investigating a meth lab which resulted in one arrest.


A meth lab bust at a local hotel resulted in the arrest of one individual on Monday, April 1.

Catharine Michelle Stiles, age and address unknown, was arrested during the mid-afternoon at the Berkeley Hotel, 415 N. Live Oak Dr. in Moncks Corner, according to Lt. Mark Fields, department spokesperson.

“The individual ... was arrested for the suspected manufacturing of methamphetamine,” Fields said. “This was the result of an ongoing investigation by our naroctics division that resulted in the issuing of a search warrant on April 1.”

The entrances to the Berkeley Motel remained sealed for much of the afternoon as M.C. P.D and the Moncks Corner Fire Department investigated the scene. Stiles is currently being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center. A bond hearing has not yet been set according to the Berkeley County Sheriffs Office/Hill-Finklea Detention Center website.
