Each year, Timberland High School participates in the South Carolina Young Adult Book Award and Banner Program.

This year Haley Kittrell won first place at the state for her banner depicting the book “The Name of the Star” by Maureen Johnson. The student body chose Haley’s Banner as their favorite and it was entered into the state contest.

The other THS results follow: Dongyu Chen and Brittney Sellers each received a 4gb jump drive for Honorable Mention; Third Place and a $10 Walmart gift card was presented to Tamia Gourdine for her banner depicting Trafficked; Second Place and a $15 Walmart gift card went to Tanisha Thompson for Cinder.

Haley received a $25 Walmart gift card. Congratulations to all these students.

Thanks to Walmart for donating the gift cards. Mrs. Donna Rodin, Media Specialist, is the sponsor of the program at Timberland.
