Prioleau celebrates 42nd anniversary

  • Wednesday, March 5, 2014

Day Dawn Baptist Church showed its appreciation to the Rev. Joshua Prioleau and wife Bettye’s 42 years of service during a special ceremony Feb. 23 at the church in Pineville.

The program’s theme: “Standing upon His Watch”, spoke of his steadfastness to the Mission assigned to him by God, in his call to the ministry. He is a faithful servant, who accepted his assignment and went about the business of serving others in fulfillment of the calling placed upon his life.

The Rev. John Williams, ministerial associate, presided.

Ms. LaToya King, accompanied by Children of the Church, provided a wonderful tribute to Pastor Prioleau, based on the program’s theme.

The Day Dawn Mass Choir then performed. The offertory selection, “I’m Coming Lord”, was led by the Unity Missionary Baptist Church.

The speaker for the occasion was presented to the congregation by Deacon, Rep. Joseph H. Jefferson, Jr.

The speaker, the Rev. Aaron Brown of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Eutawville, a son of Reverend Dr. and Mrs. Leon G. Brown Sr., brought the message of the afternoon.

The Rev. Brown came before the congregation following the singing of “Jesus is Alive Today,” by his gifted choir.

He took his message from Jeremiah Chapter I and Verse 5, and used as his topic: “God Forms, God Sanctifies and God Ordains.” The message was delivered majestically and fitted the man of the hour like a glove.

A most delicious repast was served to all attendees of the program, immediately following the celebratory service.

Appreciation is expressed to all program participants; planning, decorating, food, hostess and program committee members.
