Palmetto Scholars Academy holds open house

Palmetto Scholars Academy (PSA), SC's First Gifted and Talented Charter School will be hosting an open house for interested students and their families on Monday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Cross at 299 Seven Farms Drive, Daniel Island. PSA Administrators, students, and Board members will be present to provide an overview of the school and answer questions. Applications will be accepted for the 2014-2015 school year.

PSA has made great strides since opening in August 2010:

•Rated “Excellent”, “A” and 100 by the SC Department of Education

•Awarded the Palmetto Gold Award for both General Performance and Closing the Achievement Gap

•Dr. Tim Gott has been selected as the PSA Principal. He will officially join PSA beginning on June 2014. Dr. Gott is the Director of the Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science. NEWSWEEK magazine's #1 ranked high school in the US for the past two years.

Video FAQs and testimonials from our nationally recognized Gifted and Talented Expert, Dr. Jay Thomas, and current PSA Principal Dr. Marty Hale, students, and faculty are available on the PSA website, PalmettoScholarsAcademy.org. A video message from our incoming Principal starting work on June 1, Dr. Tim Gott, will be posted on the PSA website.

PSA is a SC Public Charter School for gifted and talented students in the 6th-12th grades and is open to students from any county and is tuition free. Applications for the 2013-2014 school year are now being accepted for grades 8-11. Information regarding the school is available at www.palmettoscholarsacademy.org
