Middle College junior honored

Madison Gaskins, a junior at Berkeley Middle College High School, was recently named first place winner in the 2013-2014 Fleet Association Essay Contest.

Miss Gaskins was presented a certificate and $250 for her essay entitled “Bill of Rights-What Does It Mean to You?” The presentation was held Jan. 16 at the Lowcountry Branch 269 of the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA).

The FRA is a congressionally chartered, nonprofit organization that represents the interests of the Sea Service community before the U. S Congress.

Berkeley Middle College High School is on the Moncks Corner campus of Trident Technical College and serves 11th and 12th graders. Students in the school complete high schools courses if needed and are also enrolled in college dual credit courses.
