The following incidents were obtained from Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reports:

On Jan. 24 a man reported that he found several air conditioning units in the Francis Marion National Forest. The complainant gave directons to a forest road off Bullhead Road outside the Moncks Corner area. The units were sitting a few hundred yards to the left of the road, which would require a truck to travel down due to poor road conditions. The deputy collected the serial numbers of an XE 1000, a Goodman CK 18-18, an Energy Star unit and a Carrier unit. None of the items were collected as evidence due to the deputy being unable to transport them or get their vehicle to the scene. None of the units were listed as stolen in NCIC.

On Jan. 24 a deputy responded to Atkins Landing Lane near Moncks Corner in regard to a dispute between two men. The victim said he was walking to his vehicle at about 3 p.m. that day when the subject rode by and started cursing at him. The victim got in his vehicle and started following the subject to Kitfield Road. That’s where the subject stopped in the middle of the road, got out with a handgun and cursed at the victim. The victim said the subject left toward Atkins Landing. About 10 minutes later the subject returned, pulled in front of the victim’s vehicle and started cursing at him again. The victim called 911 and the subject left. The subject returned to Broughton Road, where he told a deputy he did not have a gun and he did not threaten the victim. The subject said he and the victim did not get along and they have had problems in the past. Both parties agreed to keep their distance from each other.

A man was arrested after attempting to shoplift $120 worth of beer from a grocery store at Cane Bay Plantation. A deputy spoke to a man in a vehicle who said he had taken his friend to the grocery store to buy beer. The man took the deputy to his friend’s location. The subject admitted to taking the merchandise but said he gave it to another friend of his. The deputy spoke with a grocery store employee, who showed the deputy surveillance video of the theft. The subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting. He was taken to the detention center.
