After suffering through a three-game losing streak to start 2014, perhaps these Lady Cavs have found themselves.
Led by Amber Lewis with 21 points and eighth grader Clair Gilmore’s 11 points, SJCA snapped a three-game skid with a 41-37 win over Florence Christian on Jan. 13.
Lewis and Gilmore found their mark from beyond the arc, connecting for six three-pointers, four for Lewis and two for Gilmore.
SJCA shot 60-percent from the foul line, going 9-for-15.
Hayley Singletary added six points in the winning effort.
In the 38-28 loss to Northside Christian on Jan. 10, Mecca Murphy led the way with 11 points, with Gilmore and Dori Kelly adding six points each.
In the 51-37 loss to James Island Christian on Jan. 7, Murphy topped the Lady Cavs in scoring with 12 points, Singletary added 10 points and Lewis seven points.
The Lady Cavs begin the second half of their schedule with a 4-4 mark and 1-2 in SCISA Region 3A.
SJCA faces Cathedral Academy, a rematch with Faith Christian, and a home and home series with Lowcountry Prep in the coming weeks.
