Donald W. Cooper

Donald Wayne Cooper of Pineville died on Dec. 28, 2013. He was 49.

Services were held on Jan. 1, 2014 at St. Mark Holiness Church in Pineville. Henryhand Funeral Home was in charge.

Aaron Hall

Aaron “Junior Hamm” Hall of Pineville died on Dec. 15, 2013. He was 81.

Services were held on Dec. 21, 2013 at St. Peters Baptist Church in Pineville. Henryhand Funeral Home was in charge.

Regina McCray

Regina “Gina” Dingle McCray of Wilmington, NC, died on Dec. 16, 2013. She was 37.

Services were held on Dec. 23, 2013 at St. Phillip Baptist Church in St. Stephen, with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Henryhand Funeral Home was in charge.

Pearl Estell Risher McCutcheon

Pearl Estell Risher McCutcheon of Andrews, the wife of the late Willard Randolph McCutcheon, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her residence. She was 88.

Mrs. McCutcheon was born the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Risher and Pearl Estell Peagler Risher on July 10, 1925 in Berkeley County. She was a member of the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of the Eastern Star — Rosemary Chapter. Though words could never fully describe all her life, she committed her life to acts of selfless giving, fervent prayer, and an unconditional love to earn her the distinguished titles — Beloved Mother and Cherished Friend.

Randolph and Pearl were married July 14, 1942, and celebrated 69 years together. From their blessed union was born four children, Barbara (Kenneth) M. Camlin, Willard Ralph McCutcheon, Frances (Don) M. Freeman, and Debbie (Johnny) M. Ellis; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild. She also leaves behind: two brothers, J.W. (Kay) Peagler and Monroe Peagler; a sister, Reather (Tally) Arnold; and three sister-in-laws, Norma R. Snell, Betty Risher, and Nona Peagler.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, a son, Ralph; seven brothers, Perry, Walter, Silas, Marion, Buster, William “Pee Wee” Peagler and Rufus Risher; five sisters, Rev. Effie Causey, Rachel Mills, Mae Mitchum, and Bertha Weiss; and a step-mother, Collie P. Causey.

A Home Going Celebration was held Sunday at the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment followed in the Earles PH Church cemetery, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

The McCutcheon Family would like to say a special “Thank You” to her caregivers, Jaynella Ard, Vincent Casselman, and Reita Giles; and to her dearest friend, Jeanette Dunn.

Kenneth E. Myers

Kenneth Edward Myers, a Moncks Corner native, died on Dec. 30, 2013. He was 48.

Services were held on Jan. 4, 2014 at The Chapel of Grace in Andrews. Henryhand Funeral Home was in charge.

Doris D. Montgomery

Doris Driggers Montgomery of Jamestown, died Sunday morning, Dec. 29, 2013 in a St. Stephen nursing home. She was 72.

Surviving are, five daughters, Sheron Shuler and her husband, Allen, and Debra Shuler and her husband, Wilson, all of Honey Hill, Myra Gaskins and her husband, Dale, of Alvin, Tonia Stone of Summerville, and Misty Montgomery of Bonneau; a son, James “J.C.” Worten of Jamestown; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Shirley S. Myers

Shirley Schurlknight Myers of Alvin died Sunday evening, Jan. 5, 2014 at her residence. She was 64.

Surviving are, her husband, Charles Wesley Myers Sr.; a daughter, Linda Bazzle and her husband, David “DJ” of Hope Mills, NC; a son, Charles Wesley “CW” Myers Jr. and his wife, Kelly, of Moncks Corner; a sister, Mary Chance of St. Stephen; two brothers, W. Lacey Schurlknight of St. Stephen, and Wayne “Bubba” Schurlknight of Moncks Corner; and six grandchildren.

Fredrica Snowden

Fredrica “Nicky” Snowden of St. Stephen died on Dec. 2, 2013. She was 37.

Services were held on Dec. 14, 2013 at Bethel United Methodist Church in St. Stephen. Henryhand Funeral Home was in charge.

T. Frank Tharp

Thomas Frank Tharp of Alvin, a retired construction supervisor, died Saturday evening, Jan. 4, 2014 at a Moncks Corner hospital. He was 91.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian Duncan Bellamy Tharp; seven daughters, Frankie T. Highsmith and her husband, Barry, Helen T. Highsmith and her husband, Mike, Sarah T. Martin and her husband, Ernest, Denise T. Lewis, Karen T. Dalton and her husband, Danny, all of Socastee, Diane Barrineau and her husband, Thad, of Salters, and Susie Hubbard of Moncks Corner; five sons, J.D. Tharp of Myrtle Beach, Craig Bellamy, Keith Bellamy and his wife, Angela, Larry Bellamy and his wife, Karla, all of Alvin, and Howard Tharp and his wife, Nadine, of Cordesville; two brothers, J.W. Tharp of Fort Myers, FL, and Buck Tharp of Shallotte, NC; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Jean M. Wiggins

Eugenia “Jean” McMakin Wiggins of St. Stephen, former co-owner of Wiggins Iron Works, died Saturday morning, Jan. 4, 2014 at her residence. She was 83.

Surviving are a son, Jerry L. Wiggins of St. Stephen; two grandchildren, Josh D. “J.D.” Wiggins, and Jamie L. Venzie and her husband, Joe, all of Goose Creek; and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Aidric Venzie.
