BCSO makes several meth arrests

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested and charged six people after a methamphetamine lab was found in a Winter Court residence near Moncks Corner.

The suspects were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of a large quantity of Ephedrine following a Jan. 4 search of the residence.

Arrested were Joshua Alton Quick, 21, of Summerville, Jennifer Leigh Martin, 42, of Cottageville, Danny Ray Ratliff, 27, Sara Elaine Aikman, 26, Jamie McCallister, 20, and Charles Simmons Harris III, 22, all of Moncks Corner.

Agents say more arrests are expected in connection with this case.

In a separate incident on Jan. 8, agents arrested Daniel A. Thornburg, 23, of Summerville, on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine at a residence located on Sandy Run Circle.

Deputies also learned Thornburg was wanted on six outstanding warrants from other area law enforcement agencies for charges including assault and battery third degree, driving under suspension and animal cruelty.
