East Cooper Montessori Charter School held its annual Grandparent’s Day on Nov. 26 at 250 Ponsbury Road in Mount Pleasant. Grandparents are very often role models and mentors for younger generations. They are also historians - teaching values, instilling ethnic heritage and passing on family traditions. This event gives grandchildren a chance to give back to their grandparent and share a special day with them.
On Nov. 26, grandparents had the opportunity to experience the beautiful Montessori environment, while also helping connect them to other grandparents in the community. In their visit, the grandparents took a tour of the child’s classroom, received personalized lessons from their grandchild, met with teachers and had a special picture taken with their family.
It is a great way to get grandparents involved in the school community and also helps strengthen the bond through generations.
