M. Don Miller Jr.

Jeannette M. Barwick

Jeannette McLaurin Barwick of Pinopolis, a retired secretary for the Berkeley County School District and former president of Barwick’s Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Inc., died on Friday morning, Nov. 8, 2013 in a North Charleston hospital. She was 71.

Surviving are her husband, Roy B. Barwick Jr.; a daughter, Cecilia E. Barwick of Pinopolis; a son, Roy B. Barwick III of Pinopolis; a sister, Eula Lee Connell of Pinopolis; a brother, H.L. “Buck” McLaurin Jr. of Pinopolis; and six grandchildren.

Allen D. Driggers

Allen Daniel Driggers of Moncks Corner, a retired supervisor at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, died Friday afternoon, Nov. 8, 2013 at the Hospice Center of Charleston. He was 79.

Surviving are his wife, Reatha Dangerfield Driggers; two daughters, Lisa Crosby and her husband, Ronald, of Moncks Corner, and Suzette Newburn and her husband, Buddy, of Alexander City, AL; two sisters, Mamie Lofton and her husband, Daniel, of Macedonia, and Sandra Powers of Kansas City, MO; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Willie McKelvey

Willie “Dooney” McKelvey of St. Stephen died on Nov. 2, 2013. He was 66.

Services were held on Nov. 7 at Canaan Pentecostal Church in St. Stephen. Bishop Jeremiah Ravenell was the eulogist.

Henryhand Funeral Home was in charge.

M. Don Miller Jr.

M. Don Miller Jr. of Elgin, formerly of the Cross community, entered into eternal rest on Oct. 12, 2013. He was 64.

Born on June 9, 1949 in Moncks Corner, he was the son of the late Gertrude Cross Miller and Mack Donald Miller Sr. Mr. Miller graduated from the University of South Carolina where he was a member of Chi Psi fraternity. He was a Gamecock Club member for over 30 years.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Patti Miller; a sister, Susan Miller Smith; niece Carrie Dowling; nephew JW Dowling; and great-nephew Landyn Dowling, all of Cross.

Graveside services were held on Oct. 16 at Friendship United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael David Wood officiating.

Memorials may be made to the church at 1315 Ranger Drive, Cross, SC 29436.

Jannie Lee Nesbitt

Jannie Lee Nesbitt of St. Stephen died on Oct. 30, 2013. She was 70.

Services were held Nov. 5 at St. Stephen Church of Christ. Henryhand Funeral Home was in charge.

Dwayne M. Vineyard

Dwayne M. Vineyard of Bonneau Beach died on Monday, Oct. 28 at his home. He was 66.

Born Jan. 29, 1947 in Leetonia, Ohio, he was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam from 1965-1971.

Surviving are his children, Barbara J. Hostettler of Columbiana, Ohio, and Holly A. Cusick of Bonneau; a grandchild, Kristina Nicole; and a sister, Patricia Vineyard-Barber of Columbiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Imogene Vineyard, and a brother, Jerry J. Vineyard.
