Known as a trailblazing trendsetter for more than 40 years, Alan Flusser will make special appearances at the Charleston and Mount Pleasant stores on Nov. 22 and 23.
During the store visits, Flusser will discuss his views on men’s fashion and his Alan Flusser Collection available exclusively at Stein Mart stores across the country. He will also autograph copies of his most well-known books, “Dressing the Man” and “Style and the Man.”
A leader in men’s fashion since founding Alan Flusser Designs in 1979, Flusser has won many accolades in the industry, including the 1984 Coty Award as Top Menswear Designer and the Cutty Sark Award for his “unique contribution to the literature of menswear” in 1986. Known as a designer to the stars, Flusser designed Michael Douglas’ wardrobe for his Academy Award winning role as Gordon Gekko in “Wall Street.” Flusser also received wardrobe-design acclaim for Al Pacino’s role in “Scent of a Woman” and HBO’s “Barbarian at the Gate.” Flusser is a lifetime member of the International Best Dressed List and was recognized by fashion editor Roger Stone’s list of Ten Best Dressed Men of 2011. In 2001, Flusser debuted an exclusive menswear collection for Stein Mart featuring sportswear, tailored clothing and accessories.
