The following incidents were obtained from Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reports:
• On Oct. 22 a Woodbrook Way man reported someone crawled under his 2009 BMW and cut his brake sensor. The damage is estimated at $500. The drain plug on his 2002 Nissan Xterra was unscrewed on Oct. 19, emptying all the vehicle’s oil. This damage is estimated at $50.
• On the afternoon of Oct. 21 a man said he was checking on a garbage complaint at a Gants Road residence when he thought he heard a loud gunshot coming from the garage. He said he saw a male walking in the wood line behind the home. A deputy did not find any bullet holes or shell casings. He did however hear voices talking nonchalantly in the rear of the yard coming from the woods behind the incident location.
• A man was arrested in Cross Oct. 20 after arguing with and threatening deputies. A woman went to pick up her belongings from the man’s camper they had been living in, but the man said he would not let her inside. So she called a deputy, who said he had to let her inside because she had lived there for the past two weeks.
The man told the deputy he did not know the law and called the deputy names.
He threatened to use pepper spray on the deputy, who called for backup. He told the subject to calm down and let the woman retrieve her belongings. The man told the deputy to back up because he was a combat veteran Army Ranger and was not afraid of pepper spray or a gun.
The subject made several calls to the sheriff’s office to complain about the deputy as a sergeant arrived. The subject also yelled and used profanity toward the sergeant. The deputy told the subject to put his hands behind his back. Instead, he raised his fists to his chest in a boxer’s stance.
More deputies arrived and the subject yelled again saying he was an Army Ranger and could un-restrain himself at any time. A hunting knife and two throwing knives were removed from the subject’s belt.
The man said he had crack in his pocket. He attempted to remove his pants to show his buttocks.
He was placed in a police vehicle and taken to the detention center, where he was also served a warrant for threatening a public official.
