Justin Pelic rushed for two touchdowns and Steven Schlosser scored one as the Play It Again Sports Crusaders held off a resilient Cario White team 22-16 to capture the MPRD JV (12-13 year olds) Post Season Championship.
Pelic raced in from 41 yards out to put the Crusaders on the board first. However, Cario would answer and take an 8-6 halftime lead when Rhett Kafka scored on a 13-yard run and Kellan Noonan tacked on the extra point.
The Crusaders would mount a comeback in the second half when Pelic added his second touchdown on a 22-yard run and Schlosser barreled in from three yards out. Cario White did not quit though as Noonan hauled in a 48-yard touchdown from Jaxen Rogers in the final seconds, but the Crusaders recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock.
Coach Biggers and the Play It Again Sports Crusaders capped a perfect season as regular and post season champions with the win, while Coach Schaefer and the Cario White Comets finished as post season runners-up.
