What happened to the Episcopal Church in the Goose Creek and Moncks Corner area of Berkeley County? All kinds of stories, rumors, and opinions circulate – some true and some not, depending on who you ask.
With the disappearance of St. Mary's on Red Bank Road the familiar shield and sign "The Episcopal Church Welcomes You" is nowhere in sight. But the Episcopal Church USA in South Carolina is not gone. It is alive and well!
There are Episcopalians here who are looking for a place to worship Our area is scheduled to explode with new homes being built and people moving in from all over and many will be looking for an Episcopal Church.
There will be an organizational meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the Goose Creek Library on Old Moncks Corner Road.
All those who are interested in restoring an Episcopal worshiping community in this area, in union with The Episcopal Church in South Carolina, are welcome to attend. This is an exciting and challenging time, come and be a part of this new adventure!
