A mother and her young daughter were found dead in the home on Tuesday afternoon, and the case is being treated as a homicide. Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury is also on the scene.
A neighbor of the victims, Paul Thomas, called the situation “unreal.”
“Never seen anything like it,” said Thomas, who added that he didn't realize anything was amiss until police showed up at the house Tuesday afternoon.
Thomas said the victims had lived at the residence about a year.
The identity of the victims has not been released.

Police are on the scene of an apparent double murder at a Summerville residence in Berkeley County, in the 300-block of Kershaw Road.
A mother and her young daughter were found dead in the home on Tuesday afternoon, and the case is being treated as a homicide. At least 10 Berkeley County Sheriff's Office deputies were on the scene at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, and the street has been blocked off by crime scene tape. Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury is also on the scene.
