The Cake Pop Shop of Charleston was born days after Carolyn Holst’s youngest son, Nicholas, turned 1 year old. Carolyn made cake pops for Nicholas’s birthday party, and the feedback she received from party guests was overwhelming. After a short conversation with her husband, the decision was made for her to start the Cake Pop Shop of Charleston.
In addition to being the owner and operator of the Cake Pop Shop of Charleston, Holst is a stay-at-home Mom where she gets to spend her days with sons, Joey and Nick. She opened the business on Jan. 13 by way of creating a Facebook page and received her very first order within hours. Since then, she has hand-crafted thousands of cake pops ranging from her classic cake pops, to movie characters.
To make it easier for her customers, Carolyn offers a variety of ways to display cake pops. Mason jars, buckets and customized billiard tables will enhance any gathering. Cake pops can be used for more than just dessert. Party favors and bride/groom themed place cards at weddings, are just some of the ways guests and customers, can enjoy cake pops. Some of her customer’s favorite cake flavors are dark chocolate, lemon and red velvet.
