The Cooper River Challenge was held Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Mount Pleasant Pier.
The event was sponsored by the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission.
Logan Gaddy was nominated as an “outstanding youth angler” at the Cooper River Challenge at the Mount Pleasant Pier.
Gaddy received this nomination for catching (and releasing) a 25-inch Red Drum and a 1 pound, 8 ounce Spotted Sea Trout.
Gaddy caught two-thirds of a “Lowcountry Inshore Slam” during a tournament which was very impressive.
The reason he did not win the youth division outright is because his red drum was too big to count.
Savannah Coburn of Summerville won the youth division of the Cooper River Challenge at the Mount Pleasant Pier on Aug. 31, with a 2 pound, 1 ounce flounder.
Julie Goewey of Goose Creek won the ladies division of the Cooper River Challenge at the Mount Pleasant Pier with a nice 4 pound, 4 ounce flounder.
