Macedonia group needs help from community

  • Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Dear Editor:
The Macedonia Community Action Project needs your help.
The Macedonia Community Action Project is responsible for the Welcome to Macedonia signs and the payment of the leased property from the Forest Department. We are responsible for the streetlights on the corners of intersections, which we also pay for. We have given away free smoke detectors and gun locks at our Country Fest. We also sell the blue and white address signs so the Fire and Police and EMS can find your house in an emergency.
We have been in existence for 10 years, and the same people are still here and are now 10 years older. The participation of the community has been dwindling for the last few years.
WE NEED HELP or we are going to have to disband the crime patrol, and stop doing some of the other things that we do for the community.
If you can’t come to meetings that is fine …  there are other ways people can help. We need waiters and servers for the tea, cook helpers and bakers for the tea and the Christmas program, decorators for the Christmas Tree, helpers to clean up after the tea and Christmas program and much more.
We are not going to have monthly meetings any more but will meet every other month unless we need to call a special meeting before and event.
If you would care to join our group please contact us at MCAP2009@yahoo.com. Please leave name and email address and what you would be interested in doing to help us.
Marsha Giggleman
President of Macedonia Community Action Project
