A Summerville man died after a single-vehicle accident on Old Dairy Road in Berkeley County last week.
At about 4:55 a.m. on Sept. 12, Jackie Moore, 45, was traveling west on Old Dairy Road in a 2010 Dodge van when the van ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch, a tree and road sign before coming to a rest, according to officials.
Mr. Moore was trapped in the vehicle and extricated by firefighters, according to Berkeley County Deputy Coroner Darnell Hartwell. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead, according to Hartwell. His death has been ruled accidental. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The accident was investigated by the S.C. Highway Patrol and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
