St. Stephen mourns passing of Ward
 
The St. Stephen community expresses heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the family of St. Stephen native CM Sgt. William B. "Billy" Ward, U.S. Air Force, Retired. 
Ward passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the age of 81.
He was born Jan. 6, 1932 to Belton Brockington and Mary (Guerry) Ward in St. Stephen, and was preceded in death by his wife, Louella M. Ward.
A farewell ceremony was held in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
 
St. Stephen Community Lunch
 
The St. Stephen Community History Room and Café will be open on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 11a.m. until 1:30 p.m.  The menu will consist of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, field peas and rolls. 
The cost of lunch is $7.  Dine in or take out plates available.
The community café is located on Bay Street, inside of the St. Stephen History Room, and managed by local volunteers.  Support from the public is greatly appreciated.

Revival
 
Harristown Full Gospel Holiness Church, 2211 Harristown Road in St. Stephen, will be hosting an annual Homecoming Revival Services at 7:30 p.m. nightly Sept. 22 - Sept. 28. 
A special ending service will be on Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. with The Pierce Choir.  A dinner will be served after the service and singing is over.  Everybody is invited to attend.  Come celebrate as the Lord touches every heart and soul.

Blood Drive
 
MSG Bobby J. Matthews of the Cross High School JROTC Department will facilitate the second annual community wide blood drive at the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church on Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The church is located at 272 Hwy. 45 in St. Stephen.
Call MSG Matthews at 899-8900, ext. 2203 for more information. All telephone messages will be returned.
 
Adult Education
 
A GED Adult Education class will be offered at the St. Stephen Elementary School, 1053 Russellville Road in St. Stephen, on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.  The free class will end on Dec. 10.
For those who qualify, Free WorkKeys testing will be available.  If more information is needed, contact Principal Dr. Elaine Norton at 567-2813.
 
Missing Pet
 
A family has lost their white male Maltese who went missing from their home near the Berkeley Country Club in Moncks Corner.  Sam has been missing since Aug. 2 and weighs 4.6 pounds. His family is very anxious for him to return home. A reward is being offered. 
If anyone has information to help find Sam and return him home, call 532-2208 or 819-9144, or email cmizzell@homesc.com.
