Swing For A Cure hosted by the Wild Dunes Tennis Association with the support of the
Wild Dunes Resort and the Friends of Vicki Hollingsworth will be held on Saturday,
Sept.r 21 at Wild Dunes on Isle of Palms.
This annual fundraiser will offer its participants a choice of playing in either a
competitive Team Tennis Tournament (open to men and women of all skill levels, held at
one of the top 10 ranked tennis facilities- Wild Dunes). Or compete in a Stroke Play
Golf Tournament (offering 18 hole and nine hole flights to men and women of all levels of
play, handicap not required; to be played on the award winning Tom Fazio Links Course
also at Wild Dunes). The fundraisers’ events will conclude with a silent auction,
cocktails, appetizers and an awards ceremony.
This fundraiser is in support of the fight against breast cancer through the Lowcountry
Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This affiliate joins more than 100,000
breast cancer survivors and activists around the globe as part of the world’s largest and
most progressive grassroots network fighting this disease. Importantly, through a variety
of events like Swing For A Cure, the Komen Lowcountry Affiliate has invested more
than $5 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in seventeen
counties here in this area. A remarkable 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the
Komen Lowcountry Affiliate stays here in support of our local communities. Last year
Swing For A Cure raised more than $16,000, this year the goal is to double that donation.
