Cinebarre presents ‘Do the Math’ July 28

The League of Women Voters of the Charleston Area is sponsoring a special screening of “Do the Math,” a fast-paced and inspiring film about the rising movement to solve the climate crisis. Just three numbers hold the key to understanding climate change and what has to be done. Find out what they are, and what you can do.

Discussion of climate change advocacy and fossil fuel divestment with experts will follow the 42 minute movie. Confirmed panelists include attorney Blan Holman of the Southern Environmental Law Center and Brady Quirk-Garvin with Natural Investments. Tickets are just $5 but must be purchased in advance. Blan Holman is an attorney in the Charleston office of the Southern Environmental Law Center, a regional public interest law firm. His practice focuses on clean air, water and energy. He and his wife Susannah Knox live in Charleston with their Carolina Dog, Rosie.

Brady Quirk-Garvan works as a business development associate for Natural Investments in Charleston. Before entering the socially-responsible investing arena he worked with more than 15 political candidates and advocacy groups. Quirk-Garvan continues to push for social change working for one of the premier socially responsible investing firms, Natural Investments: “Money with a Mission.”

Natural Investments is a registered B-Corporation and was named one of the “Best for the world” award in 2012. Quirk-Garvan serves on the Charleston County Greenbelt Advisory Board, as well as the board of directors for We Are Family, Remember Niger and The Palmetto Project.
