On September 14 more than 250 severely injured veterans and caregivers from the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are expected to attend a benefit concert being held for The Independence Fund by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium.

Sinise, widely known for his Oscar nominated performance as “Lt. Dan” in the 1996 film Forrest Gump has become the de facto face for the war wounded of Iraq and Afghanistan.

In honor of Independence Day, The Independence Fund is pleased to announce that concert tickets are now available for purchase online at www.LDW4.org. Tickets are priced at $20, General admission, and $50 for the VIP section located in the Pearson Lounge. Included in the $50 price will be heavy catering and access to four full-service bars. Tickets will be sold online at www.LDW4.org and will be available at the Will Call ticket booths at Johnson Hagood Stadium beginning at 2 p.m. the day of the show. Attendees should bring their receipt and a photo ID with them to claim their tickets.

The Independence Fund is a South Carolina registered 501(c)3 organization. Donations to the group are tax-deductible and help provide injured troops with the tools, therapies and guidance that they otherwise are not receiving. Amongst other accomplishments, the Indy Fund www.independencefund.org has raised more than $5.5 million in 2013 in partnership with Fox News host, Bill O’Reilly in an initiative to provide all-terrain wheel chairs for paralyzed veterans of the War on Terror. The $15,000 Track chairs are not covered by military insurance policies.
