The Surge

  • Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Several Berkeley County School District band students and one director are part of a new drum corps out of Myrtle Beach entitled "Coastal Surge." The group worked together for several weekends during Spring semester and participated in a two-week training camp in June before going on a competitive tour that began on June 22, and included stops in West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Quintus Wrighten, band director at Cane Bay Middle, is the Brass Caption Head for the group. Pictured above are Kyle Harvey, Snare Drum and Percussion Captain, Cane Bay High School; Frankie Arnold, Trumpet/Soloist, Goose Creek High School; Taylor Eubanks, Trumpet, GCHS; Wynter King, Mellophone, GCHS; Alex Hund, Bass Drum Stratford High School; and Kristina Bishop, Front Ensemble, Berkeley High School.
