St. Stephen Elementary receives ASCD Award
The South Carolina Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, an educational organization of 1,000 teachers and administrators in South Carolina, has announced that St. Stephen Elementary School is a winner of the Whole Child Award.
SSE is the recipient in the category of Engaging Students.
Each school that received the award will receive a $1,000 grant to support their whole child initiatives and a banner to hang in the school.
The Whole Child Award is presented in conjunction with the national organization, ASCD, which boasts about 200,000 members worldwide. The award seeks to help schools ensure that students are safe, healthy, supported, challenged and engaged as they enter school each day so they are ready to learn.
Applicants for the award submitted an application and video highlighting a component of the Whole Child Award in which they were seeking recognition and further support.
Congratulations to Eddie Gatlin, whose farming skills and work has paid off.
Eddie is raising healthy cows on his farm. Within the last two weeks Eddie has had two of his cows each to have a set of twins.
His vet confirmed this was very interesting for two cows to deliver a set of twins each and unheard of back as far as 1980. One cow having a set of twins is a miracle but two cows having twins during the same time is amazing.
Happy Birthday to Baily Barnette, Tristan Cordray, Ed Crawford, Lois Hood, Jim Marsh, Donald Owens, Doris Sowell, Terri Wadford and Lane Wofford.
