Alfreda Middleton, a 1974 graduate of Macedonia High School, has graduated with honors with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Fashion Marketing at The Knight Theatre in Charlotte.
Middleton, who now lives in Columbia, commuted to classes at The Art Institute of Charlotte from April 2011 to June 2013 on the way to her diploma.
Middleton, who graduated from high school 39 years ago, said the degree has been a longtime goal: “Armed with college credits from an incomplete Diploma Program in the 1980's, I had a desire to fulfill the void of not having a college degree. Also, I felt the need to accomplish this to encourage my two adult sons and to lend inspiration to my grandsons … the importance of a college degree.
“It’s never too late to earn a college degree.”
