St. Stephen man killed

A 52-year-old St. Stephen man died on June 20 after a head-on collision north of Moncks Corner.
According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, Francis Vecchio died on June 21 at MUSC. He was transported to the hospital after the accident, which took place at 6 p.m. on Highway 17A and Harristown Road.
Mr. Vecchio died from injuries received in the accident, Salisbury confirmed.
The accident is being investigated by the Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
