Celebrate Independence Day with the City of Goose Creek at its 24th annual Fabulous Fourth in the Creek festival.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, July 4 at 6:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Marguerite H. Brown Municipal Center, and concludes at dark with a grand finale fireworks display.
Last year's festival drew a crowd of about 3,500 for family entertainment, fun and fireworks.
Due to limited parking, attendees are encouraged to arrive early and carpool. There will not be a shuttle bus this year.
The festival will be highlighted by performances by the “CoastRunner Band,” an eight-piece, high-energy party band. The band will feature an exciting mix of music to entertain the crowd all evening.
In addition to a variety of food vendors there will be a free children’s activity area sponsored by Freedom Life Church. Activities include a climbing wall, giant slide, jump castle, fun toss games and a patriotic tattoo parlor featuring temporary tattoos.
Also available for sale will be glow-in-the-dark necklaces and souvenir festival T-shirts.
The highlight of the festival will be the grand finale fireworks display scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m.
Admission to the festival is free. No alcohol, coolers, pets or outside fireworks including sparklers are permitted. Due to limited parking, no tailgating is permitted.
Additional sponsors for the festival are Freedom Life Church and Stephen Huch, DMD.
