Malphrus, White marry in spring ceremony
Laura Ashley Malphrus and William Hillery White III were married April 21, 2013 in a ceremony at The Island House on John’s Island. Timothy Farmer officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Van Malphrus. She was given in marriage by her mother and father.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. White, II. His father stood as his best man.
All are from Summerville.
The bride wore an elegant and unique, soft white lace over charmeuse gown beautifully textured by beaded soutache floral detail. The gown featured a strapless sweetheart bodice, with a close fit body that flared to a silhouette mermaid bottom and chapel train. The gown was finished off with button closure detail down the back.
The bride’s first cousin Lauren Kelly Kastner served as matron of honor.
Her bridal attendants were close friends Mrs. Kendall Geer, Miss Leigh Newman, Miss Emily Brown, Mrs. Amanda Mouzon; and her cousins Miss Hannah Keefer and Miss Savannah Deaver. The bridal attendants wore three-tone shantung silk dresses with a taupe bottom, Tiffany blue band and soft white ruffled V-neck bodice custom designed by Lula Kate.
Bill White, father of the groom, was the best man.
Serving as groomsmen were the groom's brother Travis White, the bride's brother, Tyler Malphrus and close friends, Mr. David Pulliam, Mr. Brett Wheeler, Mr. Michael Tumbleston and Mr. Mark Geer.
The bride is the granddaughter of Carolyn Malphrus and the late Mr. Davant S. Malphrus Sr.; and the late Mr. and Mrs. David L. Kelly Sr.
The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Marianne Lee and the late Mr. Billy Joe Lee; and Dr. and Mrs. William Hillery White Sr.
The bride is a graduate of St. John's Christian Academy and a 2012 graduate of the nursing program at ECPI University.
The groom is a graduate of Summerville High School and a 2010 graduate of Trident Technical College’s heating and air conditioning program.
The couple honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and have made their home in Charleston, South Carolina.
