Coosaw moves into first place

Coosaw Creek hosted and won the sixth match of the Charleston Area Men’s Interclub Golf Association season.
Coosaw prevailed with 31 points May 6 to vault into first place in the yearlong standings. Berkeley was second with 24 points and Pine Forest third with 10 points. Trailing were Charleston National (6), Crowfield (2), Dunes West (1), Legend Oaks and Shadowmoss (both with -4), Miler and Wescott (both with -13), Stono Ferry (-17), Rivertowne (-21) and Charleston Municipal (-22).
Individual honors went to Jeremiah Evers of Stono Ferry who placed first with 11 points. Steve Bernard of Pine Forest, Sal Acosta of Coosaw Creek and Hank Miro of Crowfield all tied for second place with 9 points.

Coosaw now sits on top of the season standings with 64.5 points but Pine Forest is right behind with 60.5. Trailing are Shadowmoss (52.5), Charleston National (47), Wescott (46) Crowfield (45.5), Dunes West (41.5), Miler (41.5), Miler (41.5), Rivertowne (36), Charleston Municipal (34), Legend Oaks (34), Berkeley (28) and Stono Ferry (27).
The next match is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 3 at Legend Oaks.
