  • Thursday, May 9, 2013

An early Sunday shooting sent a man to the hospital and left at least one suspect on the run after a robbery attempt, according to a statement released by the Goose Creek Police Department.
On Sunday at about 4:11 a.m. officers were dispatched to 417 Madeline Drive after gunshots were heard.
Officers were told a male victim, 31, had been shot several times. Police and EMS workers found him bleeding inside a bathroom in the residence, according to an incident report. He was transported to MUSC.
A second victim, a 34-year-old female, told police two unknown males followed her and the male victim to the address listed above and attempted to rob them at gunpoint. The shots were fired after a struggle; the suspect followed the victims home and demanded money.
The gun was described as a silver revolver with a short barrel. A neighbor who lives across the street from where the shooting took place told police he was awoken by three gunshots. When he looked outside he saw a burgundy vehicle with a loud muffler and no lights on driving down the street, according to the report.
Anyone with information is encouraged regarding this incident to contact GCPD’s Crime Tip Line at (843) 572-5210, Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111 or Inv. Paul Tremblay at 863-5200 ext. 2463.
