Donny Seegers

Two men were arrested last week after a hit and run crash the night of April 22 off Parkwood Drive in Goose Creek.
At about 10:10 p.m. a vehicle struck two mailboxes and several parked vehicles in the Hayden Hill subdivision, according to a Goose Creek Police Department incident report.
The suspects were fleeing on foot and being pursued by neighborhood residents.
By 6:30 a.m. Gregory Wayne Seegers, 40, of Amy Drive and Donny Dave Seegers, 38, of Mary Scott Drive were booked into the detention center.
The younger suspect was charged with reckless driving and hit and run of an unattended motor vehicle while the older brother was charged with drunkenness in public.
Police established a perimeter and soon located Gregory Seegers, who matched a suspect description, walking down Montague Planation Road toward the Boulder Bluff subdivision, according to the report.
He told police without hesitation that he was one of the passengers in the collision and the driver was his brother Donny Seegers. He said the other passenger was his nephew Ryan Seegers.
Gregory Seegers told police he was sleeping in the vehicle and awoke to the airbag going off. He said he recalled a woman talking to him and when he exited the vehicle his brother and nephew were running from the collision location and he began to flee as well, according to the report.
He said he was too intoxicated to remember which way everyone ran. A police officer noticed he was unsteady on his feet and slurring his words. A heavy odor of alcohol was emanating form his person, according to the report.
Gregory Seegers complained of an injury to his leg, which was swollen. He was transported to a local hospital then taken to the detention center.
Police continued to search for Ryan Seegers and Donny Seegers. A citizen called to say two subjects were seen entering a shed behind a Mary Scott Drive residence, where police soon made contact with the subjects.
Donny Seegers was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries to his arm and wrist as a result of the collision. He was positively identified as the driver of the vehicle. He was later transported to the detention center.
