The Goose Creek NAACP has announced that both candidates for the First Congressional District – Republican Mark Sanford and Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch – will be appearing at a forum in Goose Creek.
The forum, set for 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30 at the Berkeley Electric Co-op building on Springhall Road, is open to the public.
“Everyone in the community is invited and encouraged to attend,” Goose Creek NAACP President David Cakley. “It will give people an opportunity to talk directly to the candidates.”
Green Party candidate Eugene Platt is also expected to attend, Cakley said.
While the details of the session are still being ironed out, Cakley said that each candidate will make a prepared statement before taking questions from the audience.
