Lowcountry District Missionaries to Meet
 
The Annual Session of the Lowcountry District Missionaries, hosted by the Antioch Baptist Association’s Women’s Auxiliary, will be held at Moncks Corner Baptist Church (496 East Main Street) on April 27 at 9 a.m.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. followed by the meeting at 9:30. Election of officers will occur and will be followed with a variety of workshop sessions. 
Lunch will be served and all auxiliaries, church missionary societies and individuals are asked to register. 
Church registration is $10; Association registration is $50 and individuals may also register for $10.  Checks are to be made payable to Lowcountry District Missionaries.
 
Gospel Explosion
 
Pastor Kenneth and Evangelist Cathleen Morgan of Radio Ministry 102.9 FM and 97.1 FM will present a Gospel Explosion on May 11 at 4 p.m. at the Alvin Community Center (2191 Santee River Road in St. Stephen).  The Explosion will feature performances by High Spirits, the Gospel Tides, New Israelites, Echoes of Harmony, Prayze and Ronald Ferguson.
Early ticket purchases will go for a donation of $12. Tickets at the door will require a donation of $15. Doors will open at 3 p.m. for late ticket purchases.

Zeta Day at the Capitol
 
South Carolina State Chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority will conduct their Sixth Annual Zeta Day art the Capitol event on May 1 as an evening reception.
The event will take place at the Inn at USC from 7 – 9 p.m. All Sorors and Amicae are invited to participate with a donation of $25.
The contribution is to be made payable to South Carolina State Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta, and submitted to the attention of Dr. Shirrie Miller, Sumter School District, 1345 Wilson Hall Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
 
Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
 
To raise funds for the Catholic HEART Work Camp mission trip, the youth of St. Philip Benizi Church and Our Lady of Peace Mission will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at Applebee’s on May 11. Tickets are $5 and you may eat your breakfast in or take it out. The breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until 10. Tickets may be purchased from youth members or from the St. Philip Benizi Church office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Scholarship and Alumni Induction Gala
 
The Williamsburg County Public School Foundation will conduct its second annual Scholarship Gala on May 17 at 7 p.m., in the gym of Kingstree Senior High School.  Tickets for the event are $15 and must be purchased in advance.
The Gala’s purpose is to secure funds to provide scholarship assistance to graduates of Williamsburg County Public Schools that apply to, and enroll, and attend institutions of higher learning.
Tickets may be purchased at the Williamsburg County Public School District Office. The Williamsburg Public School Foundation will receive all contributions and donations; and will also be the distributing entity of all student scholarships. Contributions may be mailed to the Williamsburg County Public School Foundation, attention Brian Lee, Treasurer, PO Box 1067, Kingstree, SC 29556.
The Gala will consist of a full course meal, and performances by students and well known entertainers along with recognition of outstanding graduates and contributors to the Williamsburg County Public School System.
 
Sympathy
 
We send expressions of deepest sympathy to the Rev. and Mrs. John Williams family on the passing of a brother and brother-in-law, and Dr. and Mrs. Henry Tisdale on the passing of a mother and mother-in-law.
We will continue to keep these families in our thoughts and prayers.
