Red Cross helps Jamestown family

  • Wednesday, April 10, 2013

American Red Cross volunteers assisted two adults and one child whose Jamestown home was destroyed by a fire last week.
The Red Cross provided the family with financial assistance to help replace the food and clothing that was lost in the fire, comfort kits containing personal emergency supplies and a toy for the child, and referrals to Red Cross partner agencies to assist with the family’s long-term recovery.
The Red Cross, Carolina Lowcountry Chapter has assisted 874 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in the counties of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since July 1, 2012.
