AKA Sorority to host youth on April 20
During its Atlantic Regional Conference, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will host a youth summit from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 20 at Trident Technical College, 7000 Rivers Ave., Building 410 in North Charleston.
The event is free and open to sixth through 12th grade students. During the summit, youth participants will be engaged in interactive topics focused on igniting strong leadership skills and promoting healthy relationships.
The summit will feature an all-star panel of community leaders, including S.C. Rep. Bakari Sellers, ABC Channel 4's Ava Wilhite, NFL player Rod Wilson, USC Gamecock football player Brandon Shell, and radio personality Terry Base.
Participants will enjoy lunch and give-away items including educational information and resources from a host of community organizations, educators, mentoring groups and other professionals.

The International President of Zeta Phi Beta is inviting all Sorors to a Town Hall meeting, April 3 at 9 p.m. to discuss progress towards the organization’s key Initiatives and to provide an update on the organization’s Leadership Training Program.

Deacon Roger Rembert of St. Peter’s Baptist Church in Pineville will deliver his Initial Sermon on April 7, at 3 p.m., at St. Peter’s.
The Reverend Samuel Nelson is Pastor, and all are invited to attend in support of this new Fisher of Men, who endeavors to fulfill the calling placed upon his life.

First Annual Health Walk Reminder
The First Annual Upper Berkeley Health Walk will be held on April 20. The non-profit event, organized by the Tri-City Outreach Support Group, a 501c (3) organization and the town of St. Stephen, is being conducted to encourage area communities to promote healthier lifestyles.
All ages are welcome to participate. Registration for the walk is $10, which includes a T-shirt. On-site registration and registration forms may be dropped off at the American Legion Hut, HWY 45, St. Stephen, on Saturday April 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
