Timberland HOSA wins at State
 
The Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) State Competition took place at the Charleston Convention Center and Trident Technical College March 13–15.
Students competed in various skills categories with many other schools from across the state.
Congratulations to the following Timberland students: Brianna Prioleau (third place overall, dental terminology), Kathran Olmos-Hale (third place, medical assisting) and Madison Gaskins (fourth place, dental spelling).
Top Six Finishers included: Alyshia Ravenell (medical assisting), Saivon Morant (dental terminology) and Jasmine Gadsden (physical therapy).
Brianna and Kathran will go on to compete at the HOSA National Leadership Convention and competitions to be held June 27-30 in Nashville, TN.  Congratulations to these students, sponsor Lori Cox, and their families.
 
THS excels
 
The State Speech and Drama Competition took place March 16at Stratford High School. 
Timberland’s Dannicia Laws took second place overall. She had three perfect 10’s in Impromptu Speaking. 
Christian Balzano scored three perfect 10’s in Original Dramatic Monologue, and Dwayne Harvin and Jeremiah Mitchell received a Perfect 10 in Duet Acting. 
Ashley Mosier competed in Solo Acting and Joseph Hammock competed in Impromptu Speaking. 
Congratulations to these students, their sponsor Katrina Bernsdorff, and their families.
 
Hell Hole Fest
 
Remember the upcoming Hell Hole Swamp Festival will be held April 26 through May 4.
