Red Cross assists Cross family

  • Wednesday, March 27, 2013

American Red Cross volunteers assisted two adults whose Cross home was destroyed by an afternoon fire last week.
The Red Cross provided the family with shelter in a nearby hotel, financial assistance to help replace the food and clothing that was lost in the fire, comfort kits containing personal emergency supplies, and referrals to Red Cross partner agencies to assist with the family’s long-term recovery
The Red Cross, Carolina Lowcountry Chapter has assisted 839 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in the counties of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since the beginning of the fiscal year on July 1, 2012. Members of our community can support local victims of disasters similar to this and enable the Red Cross to assist families like this who are impacted by residential fires by contacting the American Red Cross at 843-764-2323 ext. 368 or by going to http://www.redcross.org/sc/north-charleston/.
