Barbecue fundraiser Saturday
The Tin Can Sailors of Goose Creek are sponsoring a barbecue pork or chicken dinner on Saturday, March 23 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at American Legion Post 166 on Howe Hall Road in Goose Creek. Menu consists of barbecue pork, slaw, hash and rice, for $7 or barbecue chicken for $6, eat in or take out.

Relay for Life May 3-4
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a 12-hour team event that brings people from local businesses, schools, churches and families together for a night under the stars while team members take turns walking or running around the track. Relay For Life of Lower Berkeley is having its event this year on May 3-4 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Cane Bay High School.
As a cancer survivor, you have something to celebrate! We invite you to show your courage and spirit. Join cancer survivors of all ages, their caregivers, and friends for a lap around the track during the Relay For Life Survivors’ ceremony.
You do not have to be a member of a Relay team or pay a fee to be involved in any of the survivors’ celebrations, but you do have to register.

Easter Egg hunt Saturday
Life Care Center of Charleston is having a community Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. Every child will receive goodies, and popcorn and snacks will be available for purchase.

Free lunch served twice weekly
Free lunch is served every Wednesday and Friday to all comers from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Goose Creek United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
The menu of the Lord's Ladle Cafe includes homemade soups, sandwiches, and desserts. On Wednesdays, free clothing is also available.

VFW Steak Night continues
VFW Post 10256/Ladies Auxiliary at 104 Stephanie Drive in Goose Creek holds Steak Night on the fourth Saturday of each month from 6-8 p.m.
Dinner includes one rib-eye steak or chicken with baked potato, salad and a vegetable, and Texas toast. Cost is $10 eat-in, and $11 carryout. Guests are welcome.

Filipino council Easter Egg Hunt March 31
The Tri-County Council of Filipino Presidents / Chairpersons of Charleston is sponsoring the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 31 at the FCC site in Moncks Corner (corner of Hwy. 52 and Oakley Road).
The event is set for 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Children ages 2 to 12 will enjoy the egg hunt, games and prizes, and there will be plenty of food for everyone.
Disabled Vets meeting Thursday
Disabled American Veterans Swamp Fox Chapter 17 and Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting is held at VFW Post 3433, 10154 Bellwright Road in Summerville.
