Protecting their territory

A man called police because his daughter got nipped on the back of her leg by a neighbor’s dog.

But the circumstances in which this happened may not have warranted an actual police response. As the father explained to the officer what happened, they quickly learned that the man;s daughter was going door to door selling fund-raising stuff for school. She entered the neighbor’s yard with out permission and without a permit to solicit.

The dogs were securely behind their invisible fence, and most likely were being frisky or protecting their property.

According to the report, when the police responded to speak with the father, the dogs sat calmly in their yard and never even paid attention to their presence despite the fact that they were in close proximity to the property.

The father refused medical treatment for the small nip. The neighbor apologized for his dogs and the neighbor showed where his dogs were current on their vaccinations.
