Sol Driven Train rocks for charity

  • Friday, February 22, 2013

Sol Driven Train’s music is quite eclectic, and can be described as “Paul Simon meets the Talking Heads and the Eagles meet Bob Marley.” The band’s live performances set them apart by combining upbeat melodies, Afro-Caribbean rhythms and a smokin’ horn section with a jubilant stage presence. Featuring rotating lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, Sol Driven Train enjoys a unique musical identity already recognized by Charleston City Paper (“Rock Band of the Year” 2011 / “Jam Band of the Year” 2012) and by Relix Magazine as a band “On The Verge.”

The evening at the Charleston Music Hall will be an intimate opportunity to hear these new songs and the stories behind them Sol Driven Train’s hometown. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Jerry Zucker Ride for Hope, an annual fundraiser for An Evening with Sol Driven Train to celebrate the release of their new album, “Underdog” will be held on Feb, 22 at the Charleston Music Hall, 37 John St. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $22 and include a copy of the new Underdog CD. Purchase tickets at etix.com.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Jerry Zucker Ride for Hope, an annual fundraiser for Charleston cancer charities.
