Representatives from the Family Circle Tennis Center presented a $5,276 check to Jenny Gilson, director of special events at the Medical University of South Carolina Hollings Cancer Center, Jan. 30. Family Circle hosted the annual Holiday Classic sponsored by Allstate Wally Burbage, benefitting the Hollings Cancer Center, Nov. 30–Dec. 2. It was a USTA-sanctioned adult tennis tournament with 189 participants competing in men's and women's doubles (2.5–4.5 divisions) and mixed doubles (6.0–9.0). The proceeds were donated in hopes of reaching the goal of dedicating a cancer treatment room in memory of Dr. John von Lehe, a fellow alumnus of The Citadel and friend of Burbage.
