Mardi Crawl benefits charity

The Lowcountry Parrot Head Club presents the ninth annual Mardi Crawl on Saturday, Feb. 23 on Shem Creek. The day begins with registration at noon at Red’s Ice House and the official presentation from Mayor’s Swails’ office declaring the day “Parrothead Day” in Mount Pleasant. Then from 1 to 6 p.m. the “crawlers” will make their way to each of six participating restaurants on Shem Creek: RB’s Seafood, Vickery’s Bar & Grill, Water’s Edge, Shem Creek Bar & Grill, Shelter and Red’s Ice House. Tickets are available in advance for $25 or $30 the day of the event. Registration includes event T-shirt, koozie and prizes throughout the day.

The proceeds from this event will benefit S.C. Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association, Ronald McDonald House, Pet Helpers, Captain Richie Cliff’s Foundation and Hospitality Heroes. The event is sponsored by Margaritaville Tequila, Corona, Pepsi, Blue Cross Blue Shield SC, Clear Channel and Charleston City Paper.
