‘Coming Home’ week enjoyed at Timberland
Timberland High School celebrated “Coming Home” Week for Winter Sports from Jan. 30 to Feb. 4.
Activities included Team Day, Celebrity Look-a-Like Day, Career Day and Spirit Day.
The culmination of the week was the pep rally on Feb. 4, the announcing of the Coming Home Court, and the basketball games.
The Coming Home Queen is Kiona Stafford; first runner-up is Hannah Halvorsen; second runner-up is Anissa Taylor; and the King is Bernard “VA” Harmon.
Congratulations to these students, their families, and their teachers.
Foster Grandparent Program
St. Stephen Elementary School is looking for seniors 55 and older who would enjoy spending time with children at St. Stephen Elementary. The program is titled the Charleston Area Foster Grandparent Program and is sponsored by Charleston Area Senior Services Inc.
Volunteers can earn a tax-free stipend of $2.65 an hour (if income is under $1,900/month). Seniors will share wisdom and experience with children who need extra attention and receive big smiles in return.

Timberland High Drama Classes will be performing “We Are the Dream” for the community on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 2:30 pm in the auditorium at the school. Tickets must be reserved in advance.
