The Lowcountry Parrot Head Club will host the ninth annual Mardi Crawl on Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, Feb. 23. Registration begins at noon at Red’s Ice House. From 1– 6p.m. “crawlers” will travel in groups to each of six participating restaurants on Shem Creek where they will spend approximately an hour enjoying food and drink specials, interactive games and live entertainment before moving on to the next location. After visiting all locations, participants will meet at Red’s Ice House for the official after party featuring live music from Homemade Wine.
Participating restaurants include Red’s Ice House, RB’s Seafood, Vickery’s Bar & Grill, Shem Creek Bar & Grill, Water’s Edge and Shelter. The event is sponsored by Margaritaville Tequila, Pepsi, Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina and Corona. Proceeds benefit the South Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and other local charities. Registration is available for $25 in advance at www.lcparrotheads.org or for $30 at the event.
The registration price includes an event T-shirt, koozie and prizes throughout the day. With an expected 1,200 participants, this fundraising event has become a popular mainstay in the usually quiet month of February.
