Home Telecom ups Internet speeds

Home Telecom has announced new options for High Speed Internet service.
Effective Feb. 1, Home Telecom began upgrading residential Internet customers in the Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester county areas.

Home Telecom President and COO Will Helmly said the demand for technology pushed the increased speed.
“With more and more connected devices in the home, our customers want and need additional bandwidth,” he said. “Things like music downloads and online gaming have become popular and require faster speeds.
“Whether it's to stream movies, upload photos, or video chat with family and friends, we want to ensure these consumers are getting the bandwidth they need.”
Home Telecom is committed to providing customers with even more choices to get the fastest, most reliable experience possible and will continue to increase speeds as customer demands evolve.
Home Telecom services with download speeds of 6, 10 and 25 Megabits per second (mbps) will be increased to 10, 15, and 30 Mbps. Current customers will receive the related new speeds automatically, without any additional charges.  Home Telecom is also announcing a new Ultra High Speed plan with download speeds up to 110 mbps.
Their wireless home networking, called MyWiFi, will be launched simultaneously.  MyWiFi will allow wireless enabled devices to connect to the high speed internet wirelessly.  As more customers are connecting to the Internet through tablets, laptops and smartphones within their homes, the demand for this service has been ever increasing.
