Flat tires

  • Saturday, February 9, 2013

Police were called for a report of a disabled vehicle with two flat tires. It turns out the driver struck a roundabout. The driver said she was going too fast and used poor judgement.

When she hit the roundabout she just sat there in her car. The officer then asked her for her information and had her get out of the vehicle to perform some field sobriety tests. According to the incident, the officer smelled alcohol on the woman’s breath.

She, however denied drinking anything that evening. When asked where she had been she said Snee Farm, but she was driving in the opposite direction of that community. The officer then asked her if she had been anywhere else and she said Hobcaw.

Upon beginning the tests, she was asked to recite the alphabet from D to R. She said it from A to T. She was allowed to try again and this time said it from A to Z.

On the third try she said it from A to R.

She went on to fail the rest of the tests, the report said. And the officer asked her how much she really had to drink. This time she told him in addition to what she drank at lunch she had two more beers between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

She was then arrested for DUI.
