Jack graduates
Marine Corps Pvt. Brant S. Jack, son of Tammy Jack of Moncks Corner, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island.
For 13 weeks, Jack stayed committed during some of the world's most demanding entry-level military training in order to be transformed from civilian to Marine instilled with pride, discipline and the core values of honor, courage and commitment. Training subjects included close-order drill, marksmanship with an M-16A4 rifle, physical fitness, martial arts, swimming, military history, customs and courtesies.
Jack is a 2012 graduate of Berkeley High School.
Bowen honored
Department of the Air Force Civilian John W. Bowen has been named 437th Air Wing Category II Civilian of the Quarter for July through September 2012.
Selection was based on the individual's exemplary duty performance, job knowledge, leadership qualities, teamwork, significant self-improvement, personal achievements, notable accomplishments, and community service and support.
Bowen is an airfield operations supervisor assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing at Charleston Air Force Base. He has served in federal service for 26 years.
He is the son of Audrey Lundy of Moncks Corner.
Ashe becomes a Marine
Marine Corps Pvt. Cory M. Ashe, son of Allen B. and stepson of Michele Ashe of Moncks Corner, and son of Michelle J. and stepson of Ed Neelley of Bonneau, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island.
