Edgar H. Caddell

Edgar Howard Caddell of Santee, husband of Ann Saverance Caddell, died on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at his home. He was 71.
Born May 3, 1941 in Moncks Corner, he was the son of the late Clifford Caddell and the late Maude Caddell. He was a graduate of Newberry College and Appalachian State University, and he was an educator for 30 years in the South Carolina Public School system.
Surviving are his wife of Santee; a daughter, Chris Broadway (Shand) of Elloree; two sons, Edgar Caddell Jr. (Brenda) and David Caddell (Trista), both of Edgefield; three brothers, Johnny Caddell (Carol) and Carl Caddell, both of Macedonia, and Dennis Caddell (Maxine) of North Augusta; two sisters, Viva Cook of St. Andrews and Dorothy Downey (Chuck) of North Carolina; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Feb. 1 at St. Mathias Episcopal Church.
Memorials may be made to Newberry College Memorial Fund, 2100 College Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory in Manning was in charge.
